As Good as Their Patients' Words

Dr. Andrew Blecher, MD Southern California Orthopedic Institute - Beverly Hills

My Passion for Practice

Dr. Blecher is a leader in the growing field of regenerative medicine for joints, tendons, and ligaments. Using biologic techniques, such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy and Regenexx as well as injections and advanced imaging, such as musculoskeletal ultrasound, Dr. Blecher is able to accelerate healing for many acute athletic and orthopedic injuries. He provides nonoperative, minimally invasive treatment for many musculoskeletal injuries that would otherwise require surgery or become chronic untreatable conditions. Currently, Dr. Blecher serves as a team physician for Los Angeles Valley College, College of the Canyons (Valencia, CA), and Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, CA). He has also served as a medical consultant for ESPN and as the treating physician for the Summer X-Games in Los Angeles as well as the WTA LA Women's Tennis Championships. Dr. Blecher is also the medical director of the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine at SCOI. In his free time, Dr. Blecher enjoys tennis, racquetball, skiing, whitewater kayaking, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his wife and family.

dealing with Baker's Cyst
Doctor rating

I have been dealing with a recurring Baker's Cyst due to a variety of problems with my knee that seem to be causing the fluid to leak into the cyst which then feels like a water balloon behind my knee pushing on my calf muscle. The drain and cortisone shots are temporary fixes, though.

On time & direct to the point- in & out

The doctor and all his staff are very pleasant . They seem to get right to it and don't waste any time - I like that. I felt like Dr Blecher could have given more information on my injury & maybe more opinion on what I should do to treat it , he kind of left it up to me , but I dont know what's best
